CRN is Growing!
Baby and Me Tobacco Free Cannabis Program
We are excited to announce that the Baby and Me Tobacco Free cannabis program aimed at reducing use and supporting maternal and child health, is now live!
This program is available only to people who use cannabis and can also be implemented with the BMTFP nicotine cessation intervention for clients who co-use nicotine and cannabis.
The cannabis intervention includes seven visits: four prenatal and three postpartum. Each session lasts 15-25 minutes and incorporates motivational interviewing, symptom management strategies, and more. Participants are eligible for $35 per completed visit, with a total incentive of up to $245.
We will provide more in-depth information at our next BMTFP webinar on March 20th at 1 pm regarding the intervention and the progress of the pilot. To register for our next webinar, please click here.

Funding Opportunities –
- Funding (due 10/1/2025) – The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is pleased to announce the release of an Application for Reimbursement through the Prescription Accessibility Grant Program on December 11, 2024. The Prescription Accessibility Grant Program was created to award hardship grants to pharmacies that face financial barriers to complying with House Bill 24-1115. CDPHE will award approximately $65,000 to pharmacies, with a maximum award of $1,500 per individual grant recipient. Grant funds must be used exclusively to purchase equipment that creates accessible prescription labels. Eligibility for this funding is as follows:
- Pharmacies registered and based in Colorado.
- Independent pharmacies
- An ‘independent pharmacy’ is defined as a prescription drug outlet privately owned by at least one licensed pharmacist with no ownership interest by or affiliation with a chain or publicly owned pharmacy.
- Ineligible entities
- Publicly traded pharmacies (Walgreens, CVS, etc) are not eligible for this funding opportunity.
- Pharmacies that meet eligibility criteria and have purchased labeling equipment that complies with the new accessibility requirements are encouraged to apply for grant reimbursement. The application deadline is October 1, 2025. Review the application requirements and apply for grant reimbursement.
- Funding (11/1/2029) – Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Program Funding – The ORLP offers 50/50 matching grants to create new parks or revitalize existing parks in underserved urban neighborhoods. Grants can be used for land acquisition, new park development, or the substantial renovation of existing parks, to (re)connect people with the outdoors. - Funding (applications accepted on an ongoing basis) – Hearst Foundations Health Grants. The Hearst Foundations provide grants for organizations working to address access to healthcare for high-need populations, healthcare professional shortages, evolving healthcare demands, and medical research.
- Funding (applications accepted on an ongoing basis) – National Grassroots Organizing Program. Two-year unrestricted, general operating support grants of up to $30,000 per year, with an average grant size of $20,000 per year, to small, constituent-led grassroots organizations throughout the US and its territories.
- Funding (applications accepted on an ongoing basis) – Economic Development Assistance. Funding to support the implementation of regional economic development, including public works projects and job creation projects. Past projects have included funding for water and wastewater projects in hospitals and healthcare facilities and road infrastructure projects that would support the expansion of healthcare facilities. Rural tribal and other underserved communities are of priority.
- Funding (applications accepted on an ongoing basis) – Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Grants for innovative projects that are working to build health equity, ensuring that everyone has access to the care they need and all families have the opportunity to make healthier choices.

- Shared Risk and Protective Factors Summit (Grand Junction 3/21-3/22) – Typically held in Keystone, this conference will be held in Grand Junction and Pueblo to be more community based. Amazing speakers and networking for this opportunity to learn more about strategies that support root causes of health.
- Webinar Series – Rocky Mountain Health Plans invites you to join us for our Behavioral Health Skills Webinar series. These virtual events are free of cost to attendees and features Colorado-based and national experts. These events are designed for primary and specialty care teams, community mental health and independent behavioral health providers, and community organizations who assist with access to behavioral healthcare. Held on the third Tuesday of each month from 12:00-1:00 PM MST starting in March, these webinars will explore timely and impactful topics in behavioral health.
- Course and Trainings from the BHA
- Designing Effective Meetings (March 13th 10am-12pm, registration closes on 2/26) – How do you design a meeting so it is focused, effective, and engaging? This workshop focuses on the key leadership skill of how to plan and structure a meeting to achieve your desired outcomes. We will address the strategic skill of Persuasive Communication and explore strategies for leading meetings that are inclusive, invite dialogue and engagement, and motivate participants to action. We’ll also provide actionable strategies and techniques to help keep your meetings on point and action-oriented.
- Training – The Colorado Office of Suicide Prevention (OSP) is excited to announce we are now offering a virtual, two-day Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (BCBT) Workshop in collaboration with Anduril, LLC, exclusively for Colorado healthcare professionals! Two additional sections were added for 2025 due to the high demand and interest! The workshop will equip you with essential skills to effectively support individuals at risk of suicide. Learn how to establish a collaborative relationship, assess risk, and implement proven interventions for crisis management and emotion regulation. The format of the training will be two 8-hour live online sessions. Attendance is mandatory for both days. Training Dates: OSP has 4 opportunities to participate, applicants will be notified if they are accepted at least 3 weeks prior to training. The available dates in 2025 are as follows:
- March 17 and 18
- April 10 and 11
- April 28 and 29
- Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM MST (both days)
- Certification: Attendance on both consecutive days is mandatory for certification. Failure to not actively participate during both days will result in no certificate.

- CDPHE houses Get Ahead Colorado / Hacia Adelante Colorado, a tax outreach campaign focused on making sure Colorado families don’t miss out on all the incredible tax credit opportunities available each year. We present and train to public health, early childhood and human services programs. Some examples of the programs we partner with include training 2-1-1 operators statewide, presenting to Family Resource Centers, county human services directors, CCAP, WIC, Connect4Health, Rocky Mountain PBS and many others. This year they are particularly focused on connecting low and moderate income families to the Family Affordability Tax Credit which will deliver up to $3,200 per child to Colorado families, as well as our new tax credit calculator which allows visitors to calculate their potential credits in seconds. We also have a partner toolkit with resources for programs to use to share information.
- Ascent Colorado – Ascent Colorado is a community-based program that provides treatment and support to youth and young adults 15-29 years old who may be experiencing an early onset of psychosis.
- The Colorado Office of Suicide Prevention, housed within CDPHE, leads the statewide Gun Shop Project. In order to serve the entire state, the Office of Suicide Prevention funds ten grantees to visit gun shops, retailers, and firearm-related community events to share suicide prevention resources and information about temporary safe storage options in the case that someone is experiencing suicidal despair. In addition to the ten community grantees leading this work locally, OSP staff and the West Slope VA outreach additional counties, so that the project reaches statewide. Since 2020, the Gun Shop Project has conducted more than 2,500 visits to gun shops and community events statewide.
